The beaches of Greece are among the most beautiful in the world. Every year they attract millions of visitors and offer us opportunities for carefree relaxation.
Alongside us, countless animals share our waters, creating a unique underwater experience for anyone entering their domain.
Although we may all agree with the above view, the minute we get to the beach, quite a few of us appear not to care.
We know that litter spoils the beauty of our beaches and damages the marine environment. Each of us is seeking an earthly paradise but we don’t imagine one that has rubbish scattered all over it!
But often, that’s just what we find – even on the most remote beaches.
If this picture is to change we’ll have to change the way we behave.
